Oh honey, Androids are more expensive than most apples and they are light years ahead of Apple in terms of text features. That is why your apples don't work with Androids


+1 You've just fallen for the Apple marketing if you think only old people have Androids and they're cheap. Google is putting a lot of money behind their Pixel phones and their cell service. It's a much better product than Apple.


Much earlier pp. This is why my kids now prefer their androids. It's a better product and they somehow, some way are still able to stay connected and participate in social life. The iPhones are "trash".

If you think you'll need any kind of screen time limits for your son, don't get an iPhone. Kids can get around any restriction if they want to.

Apple is definatly the outlier here and has created a brilliant marketing campaign where they no longer have to market their products or produce good products.
They just get users to bully others into buying apple products because Apple refuses to allow its devices to talk to other brands making the user experience subpar for apple users when someone (god forbid) use a superior product with theirs.

Our family is similar. My husband is actively anti-iPhone and our two kids both have iphones now. I lobbied for it because they were missing out on too much. For our college daughter she also argued that it was much easier to sync her phone with her Macbook. When they have problems with the phone, though, my husband says he doesn't know apple products and they need to figure it out themselves, which they do mostly.

What you probably heard but misunderstood was that Apple was being pressured to make their system compatible with other systems. Of course they are going to push back. They've got the money and they've brainwashed most of their users.


It's a lawsuit to make Apple compatible with other phones.


I think a lawsuit in Europe successfully required Apple to use the same cords as everyone else. Hopefully a good start to full compatibility.


Compatability is not a priority for Apple..
