I've never paid for my child's cell phone. My adult daughter and I are on the same plan but she Zelle's me money every month to pay her share. Both my adult kids pay for everything in their own lives and often buy me dinner when we go out. We started teaching them to be self sufficient, confident and independent when they were about in kindergarten or earlier.

This. The next phone they get after being fully employed should be on their own.

It's easier to slowly encourage them to be adults in stages than to have it hit them all at once when parents become I'll or die.

My 33 year old married daughter is still on my plan. Every month she Venmo’s me $100. The arrangement is fine by me.

How does one get this deal? I haven’t seen anything better than T Mobile 4 lines/$100 and that doesn’t include eventual phone replacement.

AAA is something old people want to do for their kids. Cell phone is different. Cell phone an adult necessity.

I’m 35 and my mom buys us AAA every year for Xmas lol. I’d much rather this practical item than new pjs or whatever!

I didn’t need to stop paying their bill because they got new phones on their own like adults when they started their jobs after graduation.

Cheaper is not how we decide things. It just feels like they should be on their own plan.
