It's more $ to hold it at the school field.


Not all high schools have the # of parking spaces Blair does.


They don't need the parking necessarily. If the graduation is at the HS, closer to get to ceremony in other ways. Some folks live within walking, biking, scooting distance. And for others who live further away, it is still closer than UMBC or DAR.


Families will flip out if there is not enough parking. Even though if it is your local school, Uber or Lyft costs should be relatively cheap

Rarely are any of the graduation speeches good.


30 something years ago I do t remember the actual words but I can tell you that our valedictorians weren't allowed to ramble on directly to their besties about their own narrow experiences and not connected it to an idea that is universal to all graduates. I was most sad that I allowed my grad to stay in mcpc. The speeches were a reflection of the state of education in this school system.

Just to make everyone roll their eyes, my other complaint is having just band play pomp and circumstance. I prefer an orchestra arrangement. But at least my mascara stayed in place this way.

No matter how much you might hate UMBC, it's still better than graduation during a tornado warning.

The outdoor graduation at RM in 2022 was more than 2 hours long. There were many speeches - at least 3 kids, BOE member, principal, some featured person. I was melting in the sun and couldn't pay attention to anything, including my own kid going across the stage.

I did like it was nearby. Parking was easy for us and we didn't have to go over to Baltimore.

Would have been nice to have a nice area right outside the exit doors to take photos. Felt rushed as other folks were getting ready to come in for their ceremony.
