Even Elton John sounded good when we saw him a couple of years ago. He can’t hit the high notes so he tweaked the melody.
For those who think it’s “hilarious” to hear about older performers’ infirmities, that just shows how immature you are, regardless of your age. Performers keep going for all sorts of reasons and you are free to avoid their concerts if you want. If you do the math and figure out a performer’s age, you can decide whether to take a chance on that show. While I’m not interested in seeing Madonna gyrate and, yes , I think it would look odd, I am a little impressed that most of these people are still putting themselves out there.
I think it’s hilarious to perform with your tissues handy on stage and to lip sync or not sing at all. It’s a funny image. I think some people should hang it up. Lots of people keep doing things too long and some performers do too. It’s funny. Who cares?
