Nicole Kidman is Roman Catholic and she married her current husband in Catholic Church and did not need an annulment as Scientology not considered a valid wedding.
Katie Holmes also is Roman Catholic although she is still single she joined a Catholic Church takes communion and eligible to be married in Catholic Church as she was never married before in a valid wedding.
And the Catholic Church speaks for everyone. And what about his first wife.
His first wife, Mimi Rogers, was a Scientologist at the time. I’m not sure if she still is. I thought that was how he got into Scientology in the first place.
Yes, and they were married and divorced. He was also married and divorced from his second and third wives as well. PP P stated that because the Catholic Church does not recognize Scientologist marriages, TC has no ex-wives. Catholic church does not dictate who or who isn't legally married in the USA. I'm sure the divorce lawyers and courts deemed all those marriages legitimate.

I get that Tom Cruise brainwashed them, but had that been me, I would not have stopped at anything to get my children back. She could have raised hell in the legal system and in the press, and she chose not to. That honestly says a lot about her.
Obviously, I think the same about Tom Cruise and Suri, but Katie Holmes probably has a lot of dirt on Tom Cruise - enough to scare him into silence. A terrible father, though, no doubt.
+1 I suspect she didn’t put up a fight because they are adopted.
Well, that only makes her a worse human being. She didn't fight for them because they weren't biologically hers? And to the other poster who said she gave up because she didn't have resources, seriously? I don't personally know any mother that would abandon her children in that way, even against insurmountable odds. Do you?
You should watch Going Clear.
If your children reject you, what is a parent to do other than let them know her door is always open to them?
I may be mis-remembering, but they were pretty young when they divorced. She could have fought tooth and nail for visitation rights, which any judge would have granted. The only reason she wouldn't is if she had admitted in some sort of Scientology session (can't remember what these are called) that she abused them or something?

Very charismatic but takes things to extremes — often when an addict gets off the booze, they go full in on something like religion, exercise, diet, etc. some people just like living in an extreme version. He seems to be that way with both work and Scientology.
But I think everyone realizes he didn’t abandon Suri— Katie rescued her. And I would bet that the divorce decree traded an iron clad NDA for Katie for her getting 100% control over Suri with very limited access for him. After what he did to Nicole w/r/t the kid, she knew there was no such thing as shared custody. Suri just turned 18, I think, so I’m wondering if/when either she or Katie will speak out about all this. Eventually one or the other will likely say something. It’s always been a little weird to me that Nicole doesn’t say more.
Nicole has never said more so she could leave the door open to have a relationship with her children.
She basically abandoned them though, right? Haven’t the kids spoken out and said something to that effect? I understand her needing to get away from Tom, but I don’t ever think I’ll understand how she just left her kids with him and then created a new family with Keith Urban.
Anonymous wrote:I’m sure Tom’s people establish clear rules when it comes to interviews, and people are simply not allowed to ask about Suri.
I suspect Katie agreed to an NDA on Tom, their relationship, etc. in order to get a payout and the kid. I suspect there are clauses that give her an out (meaning if he says or does certain things—like publicly comment on her—then the nda is voided).
That’s the only explanation for why it’s been so quiet for all these years.

I am really, really disappointed in Nicole Kidman for not getting her adopted children out and basically abandoning them. I'm actually surprised that she doesn't get asked about them. I think no one wants to get the attention of the scientologists.
