SSFS MS parent here. The MS volleyball team was truly that large. A huge percentage of the girls opted to play volleyball. There were not many girls in cross country, and there was not a girls soccer team due to lack of interest, so the result was a really robust and wonderful volleyball team.

In the US, it is my understanding that they were able to field complete varsity teams in every sport, plus intramural options for less competitive kids.

The school is really great this year. All the drama from last spring has settled and the daily environment is just joy and kindness. The new HOS is transparent and works in partnership with parents. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for that for their kids.

I’m not sure if SSFS fielded a MS girls soccer team this fall? Volleyball has always been popular there. They used to field an extremely strong XC team for both genders and now they were last place in every meet. I’m assuming most boys played soccer, and girls, volleyball. Whereas in years past they had a very robust program that saw plenty of students across all sports, including an A and B soccer team for boys soccer and an A and B volleyball team for girls, along with a top XC program and girls soccer.

I’m referring only to the MS level in this.

At the Varsity level, they were able to field teams, but the only competitive one this fall was boys soccer. Again, XC used to be a top fall sport, and this year they were last. They lost so many top runners.

How are they fielding 3 full teams for sports with only 103 kids? They appear to have at least 25 girls on their MS volleyball team alone. Do they have kids playing more than one sport? Or do they have a mixed middle and high school team?

Are they allowing kids from smaller privates or homeschoolers?
