This is a sh*tty analysis as it compares a very short timeframe of YTD 2024 (roughly one month) during the slowest time of the year and doesn't include the sample size of number of homes sold which is small depending on the area. It also doesn't trend the percent over time so you don't know what the baseline usual rate is for homes to drop prices, especially in January. U St amounts to 11 homes or less sold in total in 2024 thus far as of today per Redfin (and possibly less than that depending in the timeframe covered in this analysis). Of course the percents are magnified when the sample size is low.

Is there a trend of falling prices due to crime or is it more related to very high mortgage rates or is it related to people moving to burbs because of work from home scenarios that didn't exist before the pandemic and are now permanent? Important questions to ask, but this poorly constructed analysis doesn't answer them.

I have emailed Nadeau every couple of weeks in the past 2 years about crime and other public safety issues..never a response. Now that her position is threatened she finally wakes up. The worst kind of civil servant who is more interested in ideology rather than common sense solutions....,#RecallNadeau

This WaPo article is illuminating:
- As ANC commissioner she pushes council members to do what they can to bend the rules of the program for her to give her much larger amount of money than she’s entitled to
- She sees nothing wrong with this and taking that money away from the others in need
- Her earning potential was $50k before her Council job tripled and some that

That’s why these guys aren’t listening to the constituents - it’s all about giving the loudmouths in the primary what they want and riding the gravy train ideally life long

That’s within character. She also sought and accepted a near free apartment while her constituents experienced housing insecurity. She then sold it at a profit and bought a house

I just don’t get that.

We did not leave the city but were able to move to one of the most expensive areas of it. We get that’s a privileged position to be in but that didn’t stop me being extremely dismayed by a drastic deterioration of QoL in Ward 1. I support the recall and wish I could sign but will help in other ways. She’s been at it since 2015, enough already.
