I can see the vision, and thus the interest from DCU. It's all conceptual at this stage, but I get it. Proof will be in the pudding. And VRSC may be the place to be today, but it won't be the place to be for the kids already there tomorrow. U8 Academy age, yes, but anything above...not so much. The true Academies are rich with talent - turnkey/plug-and-play players and players with massive upside. Very little (to no) room to spend time and resources developing kids playing NCSL division 3, 4, and 5 or CCL. So, foresee a lot of kids and parents being on the outside looking in, supporting a vision that has nothing to do with them. Could be that nothing actually changes with VRSC, with the exception of an Academy made-up with a bunch of kids that aren't coming from VRSC.

Yup! I guess the "if you build it they will come" approach works. Congrats to VRSC for getting the MLS NEXT patch, but unless they can snag the best kids from other clubs to actually compete, it's just a management accomplishment. We know they can't develop kids from within. And if they did, they're likely no longer with the club.
IMG Mid-atlantic is coming to VRSC, so yes they may struggle initially in MLSN and GA, but they are literally building the "infrastructure" for any baller not wiling to go to FL or CA to be part a residential training and school environment. So they are building it and the top players from Northeast and mid-atlantic will come.
LOL!!!!
Yeah, because those with 75k to spend are always the best.

Anonymous wrote:How can Revolution get MLS Next? Don't you need some sort of track record? I can kind of see the FCV staff persuading GA that they can bring a bunch of players but I fail to follow the boys and MLS Next.
Anonymous wrote:VRSC has it, so of course they can. There's no questions about it. Hit up Niko, he'll tell you all about it.

Because they would lose Ecnl for the girls side.
I hope they let loudoun go mls nxt vs nva and pull a Bethesda
I think there is a creative way to do this that Ecnl can live with. But it will take a lot and not sure club management is up to the task.
Nothing wrong with boys ECNL. The NVA teams tend to have part time DCU players or players that don't get much playing time. They aren't going MLS next.
They also aren't going to get MLSN because their next door neighbor VRSC is getting it.
