Anonymous wrote:Worth it:
cleaning service
Le Creuset and All Clad cookware
Tofu press
shredding/grating your own cheese from actual cheese blocks
farmer's market produce
Not worth it:
Any experience marketed as a "must see/must do" and has endless crowds. As it turns out, I generally dislike any activity involving crowds.

San Marzano tomatoes - the best canned tomatoes for marinara sauce and chili. Worth the extra $2 you'd pay per can.
Real pecorino romano and parmigiano reggiano cheese
I completely agree with this (and the cheese, but I didn't know anyone actually bought the Kraft fake parmesan cheese anymore?!?) and also really good pasta (I buy mine from a wholesaler who imports it from Italy). When people eat Italian food at our house they always comment on how good it is, and I swear it's the good pasta and the San Marzano tomatoes because my recipes aren't anything secret or special.

Big engines, nice interiors, etc. are so worth it when you spend a good chunk of your time in your car.

+1
I always look down on the poor people; the people who can only afford a toyota or a honda. Really sad for them.

Not worth it: organic grocery store produce. Just go to the farmer's market.

Yes!!! I received these as part of a care package when recovering from surgery and could not believe how good they were.
I love chocolate chip cookies and Wegmans, but these cookies have a bad aftertaste.
