“A senior researcher in the nuclear engineering department, Jeffrey Brooks, wrote a declaration in 2020 in Sizyuk’s defense as part of her lawsuit. The document was filed last month. In it, Brooks wrote of Sizyuk’s high qualifications for tenure. He blamed Ishii for the outcome.
“I have observed that Dr. Mamoru Ishii has a strong, outsized influence on employment decisions at Purdue Nuclear Engineering,” he wrote, describing anti-female remarks and actions.”
This is why my DD chose a women’s college for her STEM undergrad. She will be in a coed grad environment but she has built her credentials through research experience in a woman friendly environment and has the confidence in her abilities that she needs to push through in an environment that is less woman friendly. Her prior experiences in STEM were filled with boys and men doubting her and keeping her in “her place.” It’s hard for women in STEM.

In the 21st century, stem production at an economical level is not one of these things
Asians are way more interested, able and willing to take grad school wages to produce good work
This is why the CHIPS act will fail
Same thing happened - tsmc was not happy with the quality of the workers in arizona so wanted to bring over workers from Taiwan on expedited visas but tsmc is being held up

Professor Janelle Wharry testified Monday about overhearing Ishii asking another professor to deny her own tenure vote and calling her, another professor and their students "stupid, lazy Americans."
Bolstering that, recently retired nuclear engineering research professor Jeffrey Brooks said on the stand that he heard "extensive statements" from Ishii against women.
"He would call women stupid, lazy, incompetent and taking advantage of the stupid U.S. legal system, the stupid Affirmative Action system," Brooks said, adding that Ishii would severely criticize female faculty, including the department head at the time.
...
Asked whether he had ever heard Ishii make derogatory statements, Hassanein said, "It's uncomfortable, but he stated several times 'Women are stupid, and white men are lazy and stupid. He made a statement also regarding our dean one time ... He said, 'She shouldn't be the dean. She's a stupid woman,' and told me she was hired just because the U.S. requires women to be in high positions."
Purdue legal team miscalculated taking this to trial. I imagine they will renew settlement talks after seeing the reactions of black jurors at that affirmative action statement. Not to mention what female jurors will think of these blatant statements from someone trying to limit a woman's career progression.
I don't think we know enough about prior settlement talks to judge the calculations of Purdue's legal team. Kind of depends how high the Plaintiff's last demand was.

Purdue probably believe the courts will not take anti-white racism seriously. Maybe they are right
Anti white racism
Please drive in any red state at night as a Hispanic, Muslim or AA anyone who is of darker skin color.
Get back to the rest of us about "antiwhite racism"
It amazes me how utterly stupid that phrase is.

A Tokyo native that is supposed to be a racist hires only Chinese? What kind of legal team does this nut job have? A Tokyo racist would hire white girls but definitely not Chinese.
