NP. I'm happy to take my kids where they want to go, but I know as a kid I didn't want to go to Disney. We went once before I was old enough to have input, but once I could help open I wanted to go to aquariums and Civil War battlefields mostly.

It matters that you went. Assuming you remember, you were able to talk with other kids about it etc. We went once as a kid and didn’t go again for a decade or more and that was because I had a much younger sibling (big gap between us) who had never been. I never asked to go back because I knew it was a BIG vacation to go at all. But to never go at all is different. I would bet that the kids are just a tiny bit curious what all the fuss is about. Kids like to be in the club and most kids around here go to Disney or Universal at some point. Maybe they never go back and maybe it’s not their thing but I think OPs kids who have never been and apparently say the have no interest at all are telling her what they know she wants to hear.

My oldest loves battlefields. I think they're boring, but we've been to tons because they're more educational than, say, Legoland.

Personally, I didn't go on the trips I wanted when I was a kid. Now you're telling I can't do them as an adult? Yeah, no.

I just commented above but I love this! There's so much that can be learned and gained during travel. My kids have learned so much about different cultures, and geography, and developed once-in-a-lifetime connections with others through travel. As one European put it, they have become "food brave" and I think "experience brave". There's HUGE privilege in traveling and I recognize that, but it can go a long way to broadening perspectives worldviews for myself and my family....plus it's fun.

I commented above that I travel with my kids and we look at everyone's interests when traveling. I want to add that I 2nd this person here (not some of the classist language though) but lots of kids DO want to travel and explore their world. I loved traveling as a kid myself, though I didn't get to go abroad until I was a teen (and loved it). My kids love traveling and a variety of styles and experiences from regional camping to international museums, cultural visits with families, or amusement parks (we don't actually like Disney though, mostly of how stressful it has become). Travel is for everyone.

Hotels we have stayed in some of the best in the world and some of the worst ever in the US. We taught them a room as long as it is safe and clean it is fine no need for the "Ritz" LOL all the time. Same with restaurants they are to behave in McDonalds like they would in for example a Nobu.

No, it's just I never went to Disney until my mid-40's. We never "vacationed" as kids, so it didn't occur to me to take toddlers (not elementary kids) on a kid vacation.

Most evolved people can hold two thoughts in their head at the same time. Therefore, I have been to Sesame Place and Wildwood New Jersey with two and three-year-olds I’ve also been to some of the most exclusive hotels in European capitals. I’m not a lesser person for having been to Sesame place And ordering churros
