What makes her think we aren't going to brown bag it if we are forced to come into the city more? I'm not all that interested in paying $20 for a half-assed subpar sandwich or salad. Nor $26 to park. If we did that every work day it's $12,000. Sorry Muriel, they don't pay feds enough for that.
Congratulations, shitbag suburban DC government employees! "It's not my responsibility to support shltty DC businesses." Another long time local business stabbed in the back by your laziness. You are replacable. I wish you immediate and long lasting unemployment.

With all the WFH, they need more buildings?
They want a more secure campus. FBI said years ago it was not interested in staying in DC because of the lack of available and developable property for such a project.
You are seriously clueless about this story. I suggest you read up on it before you continue polluting this thread with your nonsense.
Also FBI doesn’t really work from home as much as other agencies
Bowser didn’t particularly want the FBI to stay. Suburban brown-bagging square federal agents did not fit in her vison for a “vibrant” urbanist DC. Of course, now that the downtown economy is flatlining she is begging Biden to force the federal workforce to commute full time.

Also, Bowser is bringing Fenty back to help with the gallery place task force? And some of his former staff? Maybe the mayor reads DCUM?
It's not a very high bar to seem smarter than Bowser.
Unfortunately, Ms. Albert assumed her DC position under a cloud. There's substantial criticism of her immediately-prior role with the GSA. She stands accused as a GSA official of ignoring the established process and findings of an FBI site selection committee and putting her thumb on the scale for a Greenbelt site owned by Metro, where she previously worked.
There's no cloud. She is not a Bowser flunky. Her reputation speaks for itself. She worked for Metro but lives in DC. She doesn't have a dog in that hunt.
VA is just mad. Can't they just be happy with the Wizards?
Too bad that Bowser didn't try harder to get the FBI to stay in DC. Her concept of the DC economy seems to revolve around more condos and baristas, rather than keeping the big employers that we have. Belatedly she's panicked about the Caps and Wizards and demanding that Biden order federal workers back to their offices all the time.
This is absolutely true. She doesn't get how hard it is to operate a business here.
The huge rents, smashed storefronts and theft can't be that enticing to a business owner. This sucks. As a DC resident I want businesses I can walk to, I feel for them and also understand completely if they up and move. I want to!
Bowser needs MPD to step up.
