As for the feel of the studio, it must be very studio dependent (and/or the times of day I'm going). The studio I'm going to doesn't seem cliquey at all, nobody is making it a big social thing, and everyone who works there is super friendly and not pushy. Yes, they mention things like the transformation challenge at the end of class announcements, but that's the extent of it. Nobody is approaching me individually to upsell me anything. There are definitely people there who don't have the OTF HR monitors, nobody cares.

It was really obnoxious. May have just been my location.
It's not just your location. One of my children was a Sales Associate at OTF and said they push the young staff very, very hard to continuously follow up with people, keep calling them, etc. They're high-pressure sales tactics and very few OTFs care if you've said you want to be taken off their list.
Isn't this true of many gyms? Canceling LA Fitness membership was a PITA. I think it's crummy, just noting that it doesn't seem specific to OTF.
OTF is worse. They will keep calling and texting even when you ask them to stop over and over again. Emails and an occasional call I understand, or trying to save the sale if you’re cancelling… but this is not that. This is a constant push to upgrade your membership.
I did a promo a year ago and signed up for month of class. I did 10 min of class and got tired of the instructor trying tell me that I couldn’t do the class without the stupid wrist monitor. Asked if it gave me superpowers or if provided other benefit that helped me getting in better shape. It was clear he wanted to make a scene told him from up and walked out. And they kept calling and calling .

Exactly, and it doesn't stop once you sign up. They'll push you hard to sign up for challenges (which cost extra), upgrade your plan, etc. It's nonstop.
