Nikki Haley seems like a good middle of the road choice and she has a background in government.
Any thoughts? MAGA crazies need not reply.
Her chances are Slim to none and Slim has left the building. Chris Christie is correct when he says that if Trump is not the GOP nominee, he will run as a third party candidate
The GOP loss will make Goldwater's loss to Johnson look like a huge win.
I think Christie is right. Trump will destroy the GOP--and the country if given the chance--before he admits defeat. He has no loyalty to the GOP as a party, individual Republican voters, or the country. He does not GAF about anyone except himself.
Trump can't give up because of his misguided belief that he can pardon himself and stay out of prison!

It isn't close. Trump will be the nominee, barring death.
Hope springs eternal!
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I don’t like her and I disagree with her on a lot but at least she seems mentally stable, unlike most of the GOP field.
Don't underestimate the appeal of mentally stable.
We have very mentally unstable on one side. And a physically unstable geriatric on the other.
A sane 51 year old would win a lot of votes just for being a sane 51 year old. And if she does somehow win the nomination, she would run the table on Biden. She'd win in a landslide.
I disagree with Haley on a lot of things, but I like her temperament. The bar is so low that being reasonably healthy and rational is enough to win the presidency.
Anonymous wrote:RNC is pushing her hard bc they think she will get liberal leaning suburban women. However the RNC hasn’t actually controlled or influenced the Republican voter base for at least the last two presidential elections and it won’t be any different this time.

If she’s going to go along with the 2025 project, it doesn’t matter. And Heritage Foundation says it’s for all Republican candidates. She would have to come out and explicitly state she will under no circumstances use those referrals and policy advisements.
What is this 2025 project that you’re carrying on about? The most I’ve heard about it is that it’s Republican donors’ plan for overturning trans gains and such. If so, then you need to get a clue. Our very democracy is at stake. If voting in Nikki Haley means Trump stays far away from the presidency, then that’s what we’re going to do even if it means RuPaul can’t use the women’s bathroom.
This. I wish people would get this (on both sides). Stop sacrificing the good of the whole for a few issues that don't apply to most people. As a pro choice woman of color, I am not losing my marbles over a 20 week abortion ban. I will just make sure my DDs have easy access to contraception. I am also not going to lose my mind if LGBTQ+ curriculums become optional or if schools don't assign trans bathrooms. We should be focused on the economy, rising cost of healthcare, lags in education and gun control. This is what impacts most people.

I'm a D all the way - and I think Haley could very well win if she's the GOP nominee. And I'd hate a lot of what she does as president, and I think we'd survive it as a country. I am not TERRIFIED over the prospect of her being president. I just wouldn't like it.
I think Trump's chances are worse, but he's a much bigger risk to our existence if he wins. Plus he's just so exhausting. Every second of him is exhausting and terrifying in equal measure. I cannot bear the thought of another Trump presidency.
I'd rather Haley be the nominee and risk the chance of her winning than Trump, even if his chances of winning are worse.
Right there with you. Haley isn't a threat to the USA and the world order the way Trump is.
