FPYC and Valor were much better about giving score updates.
Does anyone have the score updated results? Usually there is a live results page for these tournaments, but Herndon just has an incomplete pdf with Day 1 results only.
I think they plan to post final results by November 2025.

Yes, and so there were kids that actually played for the rec programs in the fall selected for the teams sitting on the bench while this kid is playing the entire game one half for each team so it's not a situation where neither team could field a full lineup. One of the club's board members is one of the coaches, too. Absolutely embarrassing.

Thats because there were barely any teams in the Valor tournament.

FPYC and Valor were much better about giving score updates.

Why didn't the coach go talk to the site coordinator? Why would you expect the referee to do something about it when it's not his job? Referee's job is to referee the players on the field, not question eligibility of players.

The Herndon Cup and the FPYC tournaments are two of the best rec tournaments hands down. Long history and very well run. Whoever started this thread (looks like it was started last year) should admit that. Does not look like any complaints this year so far. Last year must have been a bad apple or two trying to trash a good org.

My dc has only played in two tournaments: this one and a Valor tournament in spring. I went in with very low expectations based on the spring experience.
This herndon tournament was SO much better then the crappy Valor one. Kudos to the Herndon volunteers who pulled this together.

Didn't Loudoun play in FPYC and Valor (which is Chantilly's travel team) Rec tournaments also in recent seasons?
Obviously, no one has a problem with Loudoun playing in tournaments except for some Not Winning Sore Losers. The problem with Chantilly is that they do not have good coaching. Just some talentless yeller coaches who will never get their players to make a high school team.
Also, what is the big deal about a parent filming their kids game? I've been filming my son's games since he was 5 years old playing T-ball. Ha! Is that such a crime?
What happened with filming? You got harassed? I have never heard of filming not allowed.
Not Herndon Cup, but I've had rec parents from CYA's rec team (13G Weber) threaten to call the cops on me multiple occasions for filming my own daughter's match. They'd send parents, coach, and CYA staff to demand that I stop filming.
That's crazy. Been a "soccer parent" for over 10 years and I always try to film or photograph highlights from my kids' games, both rec and travel. Never heard of this.
When a PP mentioned CYA 13G I thought of some of the parents whose kids are likely on that team. I deal with them in other sports and activities. Not too surprised to hear that they're freaking out about some thing or another.

I know this team, too, they all stick together for everything - multiple sports and all in the same class.
They are an entrenched CYA team that games the system. Coaches privileges on this one.

Wasn’t this the team that tried to get another team disqualified that beat them last year in the Herndon All-stars.
CYA doesn't play entire teams in All Stars, they make All Star teams out of coaches kids.
I think the coach of this particular all star team was also the age group coordinator. So who knows how that actually worked out. Based on personal experience in a different setting the guy is a jackass.
