As someone who has seen this happen to our state, it is a very drawn out process to try to obtain a charter again after it is revoked by National PTA. No, I have been very involved with one of ours for several years. I have also left ones not well run and very shady. I have seen lots of shady stuff. Ours has been very well run with very little money as we got very creative.

MCCPTA is a show and they aren't going to do anything if there is an issue. There have been PTA's in the past with issues and they never got involved. They have the same people running it who refuse to step down and don't even have kids in MCPS anymore[b]. They are completely not responsive or helpful except to collect dues.

Maryland state and MCCPTA are two different bodies. The state little PTA has already been formed. And I think you and some folks in this thread illustrate the point, folks don’t want to follow rules for a PTA which is a legal nonprofit organization, nor do they want to do the actual work.
