I can’t find my source for this. I might’ve read it or seen it on TV or heard it on a podcast but one of the most dangerous situations for police officers are domestic violence situations. The chances of the car, becoming physically violent either towards the domestic partner, or the police officers are much higher than other types of calls. In this case this guy murdered a judge. I agree domestic violence should be taking much more seriously.

The plaintiff dropped the charges. During the time the DV case was pending he was not to have access to weapons. Victims need to follow through on the charges. It's a tough situation, but necessary.
The entire reason that the ex-wife got sole custody of the kids and the house and why the judge said he had to have no contact with them was because he had a history of domestic violence. Are you serious? That’s why he lost the kids and his house and why he went and killed the judge that ruled in his ex-wife’s favor.

He was ordered to surrender the firearm. When the abuse claim was withdrawn by the complainant he would have been permitted to retrieve it. He was never adjudicated a “domestic abuser” until perhaps the day the judge ruled in the custody case.

No. A county circuit judge does not have round the clock security. Most federal judges do not have this. What gave you this idea?
I dunno. Movies? Movies always show judges surrounded by teams of bodyguards and others patrolling outside their homes.
I was also surprised when that Texas congressman was carjacked a couple weeks ago that he didn’t have a team of security people.
The vast vast majority of congressmen get no security whatsoever.
