My husband grew up in a patriarchal culture, he chose me, someone raised in America. He liked that I was open and honest and did not feel the need to stifle my thoughts and feelings and opinions.

I have lived overseas in a geo with many men who are there primarily for dating/wives/s3x. It’s very simple global economic arbitrage. A guy who is poor, ugly, etc and unable to find a hot or young partner will be relatively wealthy in a poorer country. He can therefore attract more attractive sexual partners by virtue of relative weight of his economic resources. It is very simple. Very few of the men who do this are wealthy or attractive, they don’t need to, they can find attractive partners in the US.




The difference in quality isn't even close. Most American guys are forced to date American women because they can't afford to live in another country. This has changed somewhat with the advent of digital nomad though. Most of those guys are normal and only date local women. But if you are hanging out in an area with lots of sex tourists, then yeah, most of those guys can't get decent women in the US.


You are confirming my point. The unequal distribution of economic resources across the globe allows people to migrate to areas where they are comparatively wealthier, which provides them the opportunity to attract more sexual partners who are seeking to improve their economic situation.

This is accurate, I’m below average in looks because I’m nerdy and short. I have money and a good job… but I’m not insanely wealthy. I’m dating a foreign woman who I met here by accident and she’s the best I’ve been with. She’s both hotter and treats me better than any American woman I’ve dated in the past. Of course I’m wary of the whole green card marriage thing, but she must be an amazing actress because I genuinely believe that she loves me. No woman has shown as much genuine affection as her. I HAVE been used for money before by American women and I knew from day 1 in those relationships that it was all about the money (I was fine w/ it tbh because I wasn’t seriously dating at the time). This one seems different.


I forgot to add that the cooking and cleaning part isn’t something I expect, I am fine with splitting the domestic chores. The main thing I like is that she’s very pretty, fun to talk to, and doesn’t act like she’s doing me a favor by dating me. I feel valued by her and I go to great lengths to show that the feeling is mutual.

This is accurate, I’m below average in looks because I’m nerdy and short. I have money and a good job… but I’m not insanely wealthy. I think in a very overly generalized way, foreign woman are less ‘drama’ than American women. There is a bit more genuine-ness and empathy.

I do know women living here originally from overseas that can be highly dramatic so it’s not a blanket statement. But overall, I find they are less so than their American equivalents.

Nope to the bolded. Foreign women are harsh. Lol perhaps they are more polite to strangers? But they are blunt with their loved ones.

A Foreign woman would be much more likely than an American woman to tell her DH without blinking an eye that his belly is too big

Absolutely not. It’s a very “heads I win tails you lose” situation. A poor man is still given respect and is still supposed to be the king in his home. All men have greater social status than a woman.

American women over 30 are usually fat, most Asian women over 30 are not. So thin, attractive American are in short supply and can be very picky (rightfully so) and demanding. Women born in Asia live around everyone else who is thin, so do not become entitled and picky. This is refreshing to western men.

She meant having a job is the only expectation for men while women have to be perfect in almost every way.

So an American man with a decent job who is even remotely helpful in other ways is a step up from their own men. This is true about a lot of foreign cultures as you can see from this thread.

So while American men could be better, they are better than most. So it makes sense for them to look abroad for women who will compare them to their local men.
