+1 UGA is good but people in Herr are hyping it up because their DC's can't get into better schools.
You don’t get it. UGA is the type of school people want now and consider it a top choice.
My DD is considering as one of her final choices for the fall. She just wasn’t interested in applying to places like Emory and we tried repeatedly to get her to consider. She was thrilled to be accepted to UGA.
Where else is she considering and where are you from?

+1. UGA is the flagship and the top public choice for in state kids unless they want a specific stem field at Tech.

You must live in the country/real areas. GATech is only the best at some STEMs. Uga is better for a lot of other things. And most Georgia students have no chance at an Emory acceptance so I can see why they don't talk about it much.

It is a no-brainer. The ROI of the same major at UGA and Emory is roughly the same. The wise parent with lots of money would use that money for graduate school or for a down-payment on a house for their kid.

Your point is that UGA's popularity has something or nothing to do with its National Championship over 40 years ago?
