Define an "independent" suburban woman. Is it someone who votes for issues relevant at a time and not always down the lines of specific parties? In that case any candidate that promotes divisive politics and extreme views on one topic or another has very little chance.

And forcing women and girls as young as 10 to bear unwanted children. And threatening to take away their birth control.

I expect for most of us it is not the only criteria, but it is the minimum criteria for consideration. If you can’t tell me that you (and your party’s plank) fully support women’s ability to make medical decisions about our own bodies, including the choice of abortion, it’s thank you, next.

Once you pass that hurdle (shouldn’t even be a hurdle) then I am interested in hearing what else you have to say. At that point I am not as interested in knowing that you spend time with your own family as I am about whether you have an understanding and practical ideas (ideally backed by previous actions that you have taken to good effect) on how to address issues facing all of us.

It’s laughable how many DCUM women seem to think they speak for mainstream America or that their votes are even a blip on the radar for the leading republican candidates.

Kansas and Ohio are huge blips on the Republican radar and if you believe differently you’re deluding yourself. RNC chair and even Haley have been trying to sound the alarm but then there’s always a guy like you saying women don’t **really** care if we let them die of sepsis.

This is well said. It’s not my only issue but it is my baseline for taking a candidate seriously— because “I will force a raped ten year old to bear her rapists child” is just a non-starter for me, and honestly for most humans in the United States.

Have interviews with various magazines so the women will see the profiles when they are at the hairdresser.

See Obama/David Axelrod's campaign plan targeting 'low information voters.'

The same percentage that has children. Most women who get abortions are already mothers, and, all women who have given birth know how incredibly quickly things can go to hell. Constraining their access to healthcare around what is the riskiest health situation they’ve ever found themselves in is endlessly foolish.

This was a Ron DeSantis ad. Won him the Republican nomination for governor in 2018.

Luckily for suburban moms, 99.999+% of schools don't have males competing in womens sports, aren't teaching CRT or any of the other stuff y'all keep getting hysterical about. Not to mention the totally imaginary things you dreamt up like litter boxes for students who identify as furry or cat gender. And if it's an election issue at all, it's a school board choice, not a President or Congress choice.

Not even a distant second to reproductive rights in the 2024 presidential election. The GOP wants so badly for abortion to not be an issue but it is. This is not that hard GOP...find some pro choice candidates.

Keep dreaming, sweaty. That was supposed to be the backbone of the giant red wave in '22, which turned out to be little more than a wet fart.

Agreed. Also on my list of bare minimum considerations is sensible gun control.
