It is not necessarily his upbringing. Never underestimate the power of one's genetic makeup. Scary.

his North Carolina home was sketch too. Craig Heuermann's front gate has two signs: one that reads, "Keep out/No trespassing," and another that reads No Warrant/No Entry

Could be anyone, any narcissist, really - that is the scary part.

I will say this. I was bothered by an encounter with a man at a tourist site (not NY or anywhere near this guy). He didn’t pickpocket me though he easily could have. He didn’t snatch and grab, say anything or harm me. I almost expected his next move to grab me or expose himself.

He could have done something to me how close he was standing and how creepy he was.

Good question. I guess we'll see what else is found at his residence, if anything. Apparently he was bringing up the murders to people in conversation, so I have to think he'd talked to his family about the murders in general.

That said, even if you know/suspect your spouse is cheating and arranging/paying for hookups. I would think it would generally be a big leap to think your spouse is an actual serial killer.
