Lisa has an interesting history. It is one of the few names to make the #1 spot in the U.S., (from 1962-1969) in the 60s there were over 50,000 Lisa babies born per year. It fell out of the top 10 in 1976, then it practically disappeared.

Names tend to come back when people start honoring their grandparents, so this baby is due, as the first wave of those 50,000 Lisas are turning 60.

Rebecca is such a classic though. But not underused. It was quite popular for a long time and has now settle down to still somewhat popular but juuuust under the radar. I think it's appropriately rated.

I think Rebecca is likely to come back but nobody will use Becky as a nickname. It will be Becca or even something unexpected like Ricky.

I know a Rebecca nn Bexa, which I like much better than Ricky, which sounds like Icky.

Old names in my family include Herbert, Merle, Delbert, Rosalie, Opal, Edna, and Wynn. There are several little Agneses where I live, which, as someone else said, doesn't mean that Agnes is a popular name.

I also like Margaret/Greta, Alice, and Evelyn but those already came back in style and are popular (at least Evelyn is in the top 10) we hear Alice and Greta fairly often too.

We have 4 kids under 10 named Mabel in our small elementary!

Most of the “classic, traditional” boy names have remained popular/never went out of style. John, Joseph, Robert, David, those are all still pretty common.

I'd use Amelia, Mila, Camila or Milena with NN Millie before I'd use Mildred.

Id just use Millie and no longer “formal” name.

Millie is such a good nickname but it was always short for Mildred or Millicent which are both godawful.

These are al Millennial names. They will not make a comeback until grandparents or great grandparent age. The posters saying Lynda, Susan, Barbara, etc. are spot on.

Lauren, Alyssa, and Allison really aren't that unpopular. Trending downwards, yes, but there's still plenty of babies and little kids with those names. Last year, Lauren was #327. It dropped out of the top 100 in 2014. Allison was #101, and it was well in the top 100 all through the 2010s. That's not even getting into the Alysons, Alison, Allyson, etc. Alyssa was #288. By contrast, Barbara was #976, Linda was #807, and Susan wasn't in the top 1000.
