This is so sad. The timing and location of this murder just show how unsafe huge swaths of this city are.
The timing and location of this murder just show how unsafe huge swaths of northeast Maryland are.

Pretty good self own here as this double murder took place inside a home on a Saturday night by a murderer who clearly knew the victims.
The exact opposite of a man killed at 6AM as he arrived at his workplace in NW DC.
I wish I could have seen the stupid, self-satisfied look on your face when you posted this. Keep your head in the sand regarding crime in DC and just hope you are not a victim, I guess.
Some murders scare you, other murders don't - I guess?
DP. Yes, there's a huge difference between roving bands of murderous teens wantonly killing random people in the city versus a crime against a specific target.
We all know this and agree. Some people want to minimize the violence in DC though, as alluded to in the thread title.

Then how can it be that red states and rural areas are also seeing similar increases in crime? I think you’re just another partisan mud slinger.
Are they? Anecdotally everyone I know who is concerned about crime lives in an urban area in a blue state. No one I know in red state cities has complained about an increase in crime.
Well that makes sense if the conservatives are using crime as a wedge against dems. That’s exactly how that would play out. And that is what's happening. The data are clear.
Dp. I love that the title of the thread is “nothing to see here!” And there’s people like you doing exactly that.
There is a fundamental problem with society when teenagers are running around with guns carjacking and murdering people and their parents don’t care and people like you just go: oh nothing to see here, this is all fake, and just “a wedge against dems”.
DC needs to vote in a political system that will support prosecuting criminals and keeping them and their guns off the streets. I don’t care if it’s democrats or republicans.
Concern Troll is very concerned.![]()
We see you, trumpie.

The murder?
That they committed?
It could’ve been self defense. One can clearly be heard saying the man shot was “reaching” for something. This may have been self defense.

True. I have lived in both DC and Red states. And now live in rural Maryland. There is really no comparison as it relates to the violent crime and the sense of lawlessness you feel.
