My neighbor does some crazy stuff that I can't even recount in full. I don't even know where to start.

At a 4th of July bbq, he was telling a group of dads about how we need to take control of our excess electrical currents. He rigged up a large piece of chicken wire connected to an outlet near his bed. He covered it with a blanket and put it under his mattress. It regulated and absorbs (?) the electrical currents in his body while he sleeps. He feels much better now. He offered to do the same for my DH.

He has five children.

Let me just say it's rude to intrude on walking man's pleasant walks with all the photo taking. Leave him alone already.

I used to live in Olney starting in the early 90's, that is where he started his walks. Just because you see him in other areas doesn't mean he suddenly becomes the Damascus Walking Guy, or Aspen Hill Walking Guy.

Because people in Olney start online discussions about other people and people from AH and SS find other uses for their time.

Does every community have a walking person?

We used to have an older AA guy who walked extensively along Little River Turnpike in Annandale. You would see him regularly. Anyone remember him?

Where I live now, I see the same person walking along a busy road. Probably a veteran. At first he was limping badly. His limp has improved significantly. I'm silently cheering on his progress.

There's a Facebook group that tracks his sightings. He's getting pretty old. Cut off his dreads pre-pandemic.

I live in a townhouse community in DC...lots of weird neighbors. One of the weirdest is a woman in her 70s with buzzed off hair who France's around as though she is a 20- something ingenue. She goes to bars demanding strangers buy her drinks. She is so pushy that someone usually does. She " invited" another weird neighbor to lunch at Cafe Milan and bailed before the bill arrived. Another neighbor ( not weird) said she did the same thing to her.

I've seen him recently at Georgia and Connecticut Aves. He ran across Conn and then resumed walking. I've observed him in the area several times over the past few years. Once, he was wearing jeans! Another time, he was carrying a carton of beer. I was saw him chug a can of coke while standing at a bus stop on Georgia Ave. After he emptied it, he threw the can away and resumed walking. I first noticed him back in the early 2000's. Back then we called him Angel Guy or Wolfman. I used o see him in the Sligo Creek area back then. Nowadays, I see him along Ga Ave, from Olney on down to Silver Spring.

A few years ago, I would have said the very moody guy who walks his dog several times a day. Sometimes he's so friendly and other times he basically sneers and refuses to respond to greetings. Turns out they are twins: one is friendly and the other is, at the very least, an introvert who is annoyed by everyone striking up a conversation with him because we think he's his brother. Now I mostly try to make eye contact and see if he speaks first.
