Not acutely, but it's better to inhale less PM 2.5 than more, and it's better to avoid exposure if possible. The air quality is worse this morning than yesterday, the haze is visible even at close range, and I'm wearing an N95 when I go outside.

AQI is 254 per my AirNow EPA app, this is labeled as “very unhealthy.” I don’t want to, but considering keeping my kids at home. No need for them to travel around in this. And, I don’t trust that the school’s air quality is that good. At home, I know I have air purifiers and fresh filters.

It is not relevant in air quality today. A poster claimed NYC would not close. The schools don't need to make a decision. But there are a lot of events and businesses closing in NYC so everyone who is acting like the horrible air quality is not a big deal isn't really paying attention. Hopefully it doesn't get close to what NY had today. MCPS would have to close if it was that bad.
