Agreed crystal city IS soulless, but once you cross route 1 it is different. I’m in penrose, I love it, completely walkable, friendly, diverse, and I can be over the dc border in 5 minutes. I have friends near the zoo, and it’s 15 minutes. I do not like leaving the beltway, but dc is so easy.
