Where do you suggest dogs pee?
In their own yards, dummy.

I have a mind to pull that piece of crap signage up and toss it in to the other part of your yard.
I hate to say this, but in the scenario did you describe, you appear to be the "ugly" person
So your neighbors don't like dogs peeing on that easement in front of their house. It is so easy to walk past it. I try to respect my neighbors. I have two dogs and I try to make them go potty in my backyard before our walk. But if they are unable to, I, 1) only let them use the easement between the sidewalk and the road. But 2) if a person had a sign saying, please don't use this particular easement, I would just move past. It really is not difficult.
Why bother to accommodate the preferences of weirdo who won't know either way? Dogs need to pee somewhere on their walks. Letting them pee on public property when the only person who objects is a random neighbor seems perfectly civilized to me.
I hate it when people let their pets do things that aren't permitted (run around on school grounds, walk off-leash in areas with leash laws). But if you don't want someone's dog peeing near your house, move out to the country. Or avert your eyes and pretend it's not happening.

Just move on down to the next house. It is not that hard. Signed, owner of 2 dogs.

Regardless, they would have to take care of it. It’s an extension of their front. They have to walk through it to get to the curb and a car parked next to it. Let your dog poop and pee in your own yard, right next to where you walk through to enter your car door.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:In Virginia, homeowners own their own front yard. They don't own the part OP mentions in their post, at least not in Arlington, which has a lot of those signs

My neighbors are sure I don't own my front yard. Not sure why they think this except they're from DC. And they let their dog all come sll the way up into my yard and urinate on the strawberries I planted. Not sure if this is your situation but that's my relevant rant
This is the case in DC. You don't own your front yard and you DEFINITELY dont own any easements or tree boxes.
Not all of DC! I live in Petworth and I own my front yard according to my plat and title
