In general, fewer kids share bedrooms because there are practically no kids being born. Latest birth rate is 1.66 or something crazy low.

Selfish for kids to learn that the people who work and bring in money to support them need office space? Americans are something else.

My 10 year old is just about ready for her own room. I fully expect her and her little brother to still have sleepovers in each others’ room after that happens, because I know they’ll miss each other

My twin boys (10 years old) share a bedroom. What's the big deal?! You don't spend most of your time in your bedroom anyway. But then I am European, so maybe just have a different mentality and do not have the means to own a large property.

My girls shared a room for about 3 years. Even more shocking than that, I’ve shared a room with two of my kids as preschoolers.

My dd is 2.5 yrs older than my ds. She's 7 and he's 4.5 and they're very happy sharing a room. I've mentioned a third bedroom (we'd have to carve it out of our den/their current playroom) and DD looked at me like I was crazy to suggest she'd ever not want to share a room with her younger brother. Where I am some kids share through high school-- even different sexes-- bc real estate is so expensive. But it seems like most families we know make it work until the older kid approaches high school.
