A service animal must be trained to perform specific tasks to aid someone. “therapy” and “emotional support” dogs are nothing more than pets.
Stop bringing your pet animals to grocery stores. It’s so gross and selfish.

It's against the law, moron. Dogs and animals are not allowed in any kind of restaurant, cafe, grocery store or anywhere else where they serve or sell food, period. It is explicitly stated in FDA Food Code. So many restaurants and stores violate the law.
Get dogs out of stores and restaurants and start obeying the law. Dumb dog owners are so entitled.
The "FDA Food Code" is not law. Moron. Point to a law.
Look at your local food code. The FDA Food Code is what local jurisdictions use to make their laws.

Actually, it also does not recommend prohibiting animals from these establishments.
You guys' bickering, is pointless. If any establishment says "service dogs only" then that is the establishment's rules and law, FDA be damned. And any business is allowed to ask any dog owner, what specific tasks that dog has been trained to perform to aid the health of it's owner. If the person refuses to answer, the person can be legally denied entry.
Keep your dogs at home, selfish jerks.

So I can make my own laws now?

No, and I am not Op. Your dog does not belong in food environments. IT IS THE LAW. And I do not care how small Fifi is I will make you as uncomfortable as possible every single time you bring an animal where I food shop. Every single time.

Mine is a pandemic dog and hasn’t spent much time alone, so he has some separation anxiety, but I’d still never consider this. I sure hope these were small dogs confined to shopping carts because I’ve never been in a TJ’s that had room for two carts to pass each other with a dog in between them.
Oh good let’s put your dogs smelly butt in the cart I’m putting my food in there.
I dont pretend carts are clean, boxes are in the floor, etc, but let’s not compound things.
I sort of agree but I also have kids who have had massive diaper blowouts in those carts and I have to say, that's been WAY more disgusting than any potentially "smelly dog butt" my dogs have had (I don't think they have smelly butts...)
People can't leave their young children at home, dingdong. I have pets and no kids, but you have to be a real simpleton to make the comparison between kids and pets.
For most dog owners, kids and pets are the same thing.
