Not true. I’ve been to gun shows and the dealers must run a background check before a sale and that requires an ID
Private sales don’t require that.

Excellent question especially since Latinos will be the dominant voting block eventually. This confused identity does sound extremely ironic and unfortunate.
Are there any studies on this phenomenon ? What do the Hispanics who identify with white supremacists say about why this racist ideology makes sense to them?
We would need to defer to the actual Hispanic people who hold these WS views but some possibilities are:
1. Not well educated and easily swayed by online dogma and easy answers to complex problems.
2. Attracted to sense of belonging with a group perceived to be dominant or influential in their new country .
3. They may agree with the non racist parts of white supremacist ideology such as being wary of government since they may come from countries with highly corrupt government officials and police.
I think this phenomena is a sign that much better public education against online hate groups such as white supremacists os needed.

Half of those killed were Asian, one was a security guard, two others were children. He may have picked out the Asian family and shot everyone in their vicinity. Like most violent right-wingers he targeted innocent unarmed strangers because at heart he was a cowardly punk.

It doesn't have to make sense. Most of these mass shooters have mental health issues. Most are suicidal. This particular shooter was dismissed from the military after just several months, probably due to MH issues. People like this often (but not always) find some group(s) to focus their anger, frustration, and low self-esteem on--sometimes it's based on race/ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, etc., sometimes it's just people in general that they want to kill.
Moreover, it generally matters nothing to them which people killers target. But if they want headlines, they know what the media likes.

It looks like only one of the victims was white, and that was the security guard. I assume he was shot trying to stop the shooter.
