My insurance covers it with prior auth (BCBS federal employee program, basic plan). If you have private insurance other than Medicaid/Medicare/Tricare there’s a good chance it’ll be covered with prior auth paperwork.

Because your male friend lost 100 pounds really easily so it should be that way for everyone, just go to the bathroom and voila! It doesn't sound like you've ever lost 100 pounds but you seem to have a bunch of experience watching people around you lose weight so from your observations of that losing significant amounts seems pretty easy to you and you're not afraid to say so!
Not PP
But you can lose weight without starving yourself. And the attention you get from losing weight is pretty miserable. It is a hard mental adjustment. And I am one of the previous posters who said actually losing it is pretty easy.
Plenty of people who lost 100 pounds managed to go out to lunch with coworkers, order a cup of vegetable soup and a side salad, and not make life more difficult than it had to be. And that I know from sitting next to a coworker at that exact kind of lunch as she lost 100 pounds in about 18 months and keeps it off to this day.
It sounds like you know people who work hard not to attract your attention. I wonder why. (DP)

I feel like my HCP will be disappointed in me if I do, though.
It’s up to you. They’ve been on the market a long time which is enough for me to feel good about their safety. I would ask your HCP more about their objections and then make a decision. My GP didn’t hesitate, but I’m prediabetic with a family history and have been really struggling to get control since kids.
