Also, it’s my understanding that the kids who were offered spots at Walls and wanted to attend the in-person tour had to enroll at Walls as a prerequisite. It seems likely at least several of these kids will end up making a different choice, opening up more spots at Walls.

Who goes through the effort of enrolling and then un-enrolling at Walls? Families IB for JR who want more time? Basis families are past the deadline, privates are past deposit deadline. Where else are people switching to at this point?

Exactly. With a 150 people there will be a variety of reasons for unenrollment by a least a handful of kids - just a numbers game.

People who get off a waitlist at a private school they'd like to attend.

9th graders who get into Latin because they have a sibling who got in for 5th.

People who are moving out of DC but didn't have their plans finalized back when they applied to Walls.
