15-hour package: $89/hr
25-hour package: $79/hr
45-hour package: $69/hr
115-hour package: $59/hr
250-hour package: $55/hr
Obviously 250 hours would be hard to use through the summer, and I guess nobody really knows at this point if MCPS is funding 2023-2024 school year stuff
Many of us cannot afford that so we’ll lose the tutoring.

Anonymous wrote:So, the tutoring was ok through TutorMe education because it was free & easy. Now that the free tutoring has ended, what are most of you who had kids behind grade level doing for your kid for the summer? The summer school notice came so late, and we already booked camps. I will work on reading (that is where the low scores on MAP were) at home daily as much as possible, but it would be nice for a professional check in. Any recs?

Yes, it was nice but their prices are much cheaper than nearby tutoring centers and services we have used for lower-quality tutors. Also, the company offers such great support and been there for us so we will continue. The student director we correspond with is awesome and of course our tutor.
That's great if you can afford it. We cannot. We had a mix of tutors from them, but none of the current tutors are worth $90.

Personally, we were matched with two amazing tutors (Orton Gillingham certified), two good tutors, and two okay tutors. The two amazing tutors are better than those who I found through expensive private tutoring services.
If you haven't tried it, you may want to fill out a request form now, in case MCPS decides to cotinue the service beyond June 16th, 2023.

Woah! You got OG certified tutors? Did you request this?

Tutors must commit to all the listed dates. This means that only people with a lot of flexibility (both in time and their finances) will sign up.
Is this for something different than the online Tutor Me Education tutoring?
I’ve heard they are switching to in person in school tutoring but not sure how it will work. And it’s only for mcps selected students so any child who can benefit will not get it if their grades are ok.
I support this. MCPS needs to be fiscal stewards of the district’s funds. If a child needs MCPS funded tutoring, the district(or a parent) via testing reports, grades, and in class performance should be able to show why. It is not on the district to pay for extracurricular tutoring just because people like to have it or want to advance further.
Sure but core subjects like math & english should be supported by MCPS. Our tutor at Tutor Me Education made the largest impact than any other intervention our school held.
If only there were an abundance of free resources that one could access through the internet.

They have their friends nonprofits that don’t help the kids to fund. Not a surprise.
