I'd argue that women are even more superficial in that sense. At least 50% of women would tell you they want a 6 foot tall man. How many men are that tall? 10%? There is little one can do about height.
Men on the other hand can take a second look at a woman who has lost weight, fixed her hair and sometimes it's as easy changing her clothes.
I do think there is a dynamic here. Guys need one thing to be attracted to a woman. Butt, chest, legs, face, eyes, hair, voice ----- once youa re in with one you are in. Women I think view a whole package and determine who is attractive. Woman do not look at a guy's butt and make the call there --- a guy will.

Because then her sons will be shorter than 5'9" and women like you wouldn't give him a short. Lol
Their sons can still date shorter women. Not everyone has to marry a tall woman!
It's limiting their sons' options. Taller guys can date all.

And I’d say even if women are willing to compromise some on height, many women will never date a man who is 5’7” and under
As a woman I would say that this is not because of not being attracted to the man it's because of not wanting sons to have to deal with being short men.
I don't want short daughters either. Being tall is part of my identity.
I mean, if it happened, of course I would love my children and think they are beautiful no matter what they looked like. But I am not increasing the chances that they are short.

If some 5’7” 200-pound schlub asked you out – and you knew he had $50 million – you would be batting your eyelashes and twirling your hair like you were in middle school again.
5 foot 8 woman here.
A 5 foot 7 man would have to be perfect: Handsome, kind. Sweet, lean, neat etc.
A 6'3 man could be missing an arm and a leg, and have one eye. and I would pick him first.
Woman here. Seriously why?
