Where do they want to end up and what kids would they like more? Cornell seems to be a school with a lot more majors which may be good or bad. And it has a more secular vibe. Also colder. Ac isn’t an issue there beyond maybe two weeks at most.

No need to go to a barely T20 semi public

But for CS?

Do you go to UIUC over Cornell because UIUC is higher ranked in CS.

Or Cornell over Harvard (or Yale) because Cornell is higher ranked in CS?

This is false equivalence, bc Cornell overall is basically same prestige as Duke

Nope
Duke is T10 prestige.
Cornell is a barely T20 semi public

What in the world is T10 prestige? Based on Duke alum's subjective views?

Cornell. Programs outside CS Cornell is just as ranked as highly if not higher. CS is not even a fair match

Absolutely -- If you're serious about engineering and CS, Cornell over Harvard or Yale ... Cornell is great for engineering and CS

Interesting angle. For undergraduate, CS ranking is less important. Those rankings make more sense for Ph.D. programs.

What even is T10? Duke’s claim is shaky at best

It's not Duke’s claim.
It's the de facto indusry standard, USN&WR
