Yea Oxford seems to hold Emory back in a way.
The stats for the students admitted to Oxford ar similar to main campus, my guess is that RD main campus admits just suit institutional priorities better.
But it raises the acceptance rate, and makes people think it's not there with Rice and Vandy when it is when you only count the main campus.
It isn’t right there with Rice and Vandy because those Oxford kids all come to main campus and graduate with the same degree.
Oxford is no different than Transfer students
Actually they are, because Oxford students are considered Emory students from day one. There is no metric they need to meet to move to main campus.
Us news doesn’t consider the two the same.

Emory's Oxford campus is nothing like Emory's main campus in Decatur/Atlanta.
It's honestly no different from like Middlebury. It's very nice.

Seems like the biggest college scam that I have heard of since Trump University.

My MCPS magnet DC with 1550 SAT, 4.0/4.8 GPA, NMF, national and regional awards, varsity captain and state championgot into Oxford and was thrilled. It's a tough market. In at BC, NEU and top 10 LACs, waitlisted at Vandy, WashU, NW, and Northwestern (all RD). The Oxford admit (with $) was such a relief and validation. DC went elsewhere for full tuition scholarship but was thrilled to get into Emory even with an Oxford start.

ED at Duke is FAR more selective than ED at Emory.
Duke ED is 15%. Emory is 20%. That's not FAR....
Duke has only one Ed. Emory’s ED1 acceptance rate is well over 30 percent. A lower ED2 rate brings it to 20.

My DC applied to both Duke and Emory - so I have no shade on either. I am the one who pointed out Duke is a harder admit and I stand by that. Obviously there are random admissions all over the T30. I'd be happy to be wrong and have DC accepted to Duke since DC prefers it. Emory result was Oxford acceptance, Main campus denied (not WL).
I don't think it's that different for RD. But good luck to your DC tonight.
