Don't think it's over, but what would I know? I just live here and commute to Ballston twice a week, 40-45 min going in, 45-50 min coming home.
Lol, your commute from Aldie to Ballston is not 45 minutes on a weekday. The current driving time on a sleepy Sunday afternoon is 45 minutes.
LolToday I left home at 8:30am, parked at 9:15am. Left work at 4:45pm, home at 5:35pm. But OK, you know better!

you’re an idiot. the commute easily takes 1.5 hours. are you using a plane? why do you try so hard to sound like you live in the suburbs? just accept that you’re a proud exurban virginian who lives in a county not a single person in arlington has heard of.
DP. I just go ogled Aldie to Ballston. I got 43 minutes.
On a Monday or Friday without a ton of traffic, it’s definitely doable via the greenway/toll road.
i just googled it. It says 55 minutes without tolls, 44 minutes with tolls.

I'M the idiot? That was literally my commute today...from my home in Aldie, yes, in the EXURBS. I have zero reason to lie or pretend. Good lord, what is wrong with you?

After all the closest competition is Lidl (Burke, Silver Spring).
Clearly you’ve never been to Aldie. There’s a Harris Teeter on every corner.
Those are in Chantilly.

LOL so many people from Arlington and Fairfax out at the farm breweries in Bluemont yesterday.
Yup, all the DC folks hiking and hitting up breweries in Fauquier yesterday. But yup it’s just trash as far as the eye can see out here.
It’s the difference between a day trip and a daily trip that matters for many, and the prices reflect that.
LOL the people out here don't have to make the daily trip to DC. That's just one of many job centers. Most people out here are independently wealthy, have their own business, work from home (increasingly popular since remote working became entrenched) or commute to Tysons, not DC.
Life is much better out here. More space, less traffic, cleaner air, great culture, wineries, breweries, wildlife other than raccoons and squirrels, rolling hills, mountains, etc.
I don’t think keeping data servers up and running would be my idea of the good life, but you do you.
