The J6 committee didn't lie, but they were not kind in the letter to Loudermilk. He led a large tour group, when the building was closed to tours because of covid, and one of those people stormed the Capitol the next day. Loudermilk was consorting with a future insurrectionist.
From your link....
"that included nearby office building but not the Capitol itself"
He did NOT take anyone on a tour of the Capitol building which is very different than what the J6 committee accused him of.
They lied.
So you think if the coup had been successful that they would not have expanded farther into the area?
What the committee accused Loudermilk of was giving a tour to people who stormed the Capitol the next day. Which is what he did.
THEY LIED.
This was in the final report:
"Protesters took a tour of the Capitol with Representative Barry Loudermilk during which he took pictures of hallways and staircases."
A total lie.

Those of you getting upset about this need to remember, Kevin MCCarthy ONLY gave this footage to Tucker Carlson, not to all media outlets writ large.
And, Tucker Carlson, like other Fox "News" hosts, are entertainment and not news. They all admitted they KNEW the election was fair and they KNEW what they were doing in terms of suggesting the insurrection was legitimate.
And yet, here you are believing them and their on camera persona and not the texts disclosed in court where they were literally laughing at how stupid and gullible their viewers were (and apparently, are)
Bullcrap.
The team that reviewed this video consulted with Capitol Police about the footage they planned to air. They only had a few, reasonable issues.
In the end, they blurred a door entrance in the released footage.
In other words..... the footage that was aired was approved by the police charged with protecting the Capitol.
The Capitol Police have been unequivcol in not wanting all of these video files to be released, and yet McCarthy did it anyway, and not to ALL media, but to one media outlet, the one being sued in court for defmation whose depositions rise to the tough standards set by Sullivan v NY Times.
Why not release it to the public in general if you are going to do it at all?
Simple.
They didn't "release" the video as in putting it out there, They made the video available for a team to review on the Capitol grounds. They can't have teams of producers from a plethora of media outlets reviewing the video.
And, it was released to Carlson because he is one of the few people who have been calling for the release of ALL video since the beginning.

Why did Democrats so fiercely fight the release of these official evidence recordings?
Because they provide insight in to the security system of the US Capitol. There were many republicans, the decent ones left in the senate, who were opposed as well.

Everyone, Democrat and Republican, fought the release of these videos. Except McCarthy, who was chosen to be Speaker because he's dumb, the only one dumb enough to agree to do it.
He really is super dumb.
Americans demanded that he release that tapes that Democrats were hiding. Exactly how was that dumb? He’s supposed to work for us, the American people.
American people were not demanding these tapes. Geez.

Carlson has provides the American people an essential service. Kudos to him. He’s fearless. We needed to SEE exactly what happened. The Democrat narrative is now dead on arrival.

EVERY American should have been demanding all of the footage, not just conservatives.
