there are lots of nyc transplant families scattered across the hill and hill adjacent areas. its walkable. its different than nyc but the culture shock (you are presumably used to city energy and having city amenities nearby) is a lot less than some other dc areas. the southern portion of the hill has great metro access. i on balance like south of H Street NE and navy yard with the river access somewhat better than NoMa/Union Market but there are lots of people moving into that northern capitol hill zone too.

CP — don’t live in the condos on Connecticut and Wisconsin. They’ve been getting really problematic so need to check out the building carefully. I really don’t like walking on the main strips any longer either.

I think for that Mr. Rogers feel it’s Woodley Park these days. And THs start at cool 2 mil

I would avoid Brookland incl b/c the traffic but honestly the crime and the noise have been bad in the areas you mention.
