Did any of these people have independent thoughts?

That struck me too. Are teenagers just prone to making bad decisions like this?

Yes, of course. It's a hallmark of the teenage brain.

It absolutely is, but there’s something else to this, in how open these teenagers seem to have been to really outre ideas/self-presentations (Paul as “Timmy”) while being in a society that is quite closed to other things (Stephen Smith being gay, for example). The Netflix version makes this seem way more benign a trait of this group of people than the HBO version does.

The Murdaugh connection to the Stephen Smith murder seems like mostly rumors, but wow, could Maggie have been more detached in her 911 call about the housekeeper? And what did Alex do with all the millions he stole? As one of the interviewees said, he could have bought 114 years worth of oxy for a fraction of the stolen money. I feel sorry for those kids who were on the boat. They should never have participated in this series and put themselves out there like that; it will follow them forever now.

I think there is definitely something to the Murdaugh connection to the SS case. So much smoke there has to be fire and Mandy Matney has been pushing really hard on this case so I know she knows things she can't say (yet.)

I was confused that they brought up evidence found at Moselle that could link the Murdaughs to SS’s murder, but then never said what it was! Is that still an active investigation?

Yes. And I am not sure if it was found *at Moselle* but something - (physical? digital?) was found in the course of the murder investigation.

I'm catching up on Mandy Matney's podcasts on youtube. It seems she is a big part of why finally the Murdaughs aren't able to keep covering up. I really believe Mandy knows connections between the Stephen Smith murder and the Murdaughs. I'm waiting for all the dots to be connected because of her work. I hope they exhume Gloria, the housekeeper. It's so suspicious that they took out an insurance policy a month before Gloria fell. I can't believe they kept all the money from Gloria's family, it's beyond disgusting.

In light of the Murdaugh murders, I heard they will be exhuming Gloria and performing an autopsy.

These people are not rednecks lol.

Yes, they are. They may have had money, but they are trash.

Let's not insult rednecks here. Every redneck I have met (I live in the South) if far more dignified than this family.

I'm being 100% serious when I say I need to better understand this aspect!! Which episode were they in? Or does a kind person want to fill me in? FWIW, I think Alec and Buster and the whole family are abhorrent. I've spent some time in and around Beaufort SC (my in-laws life in Bluffton) and watching the doc gave me chills.

It has come out in the trial. In short, Just before the murder Paw Paw was taking a video of Ro Ro's dog Cash for Ro Ro and in the background you can hear Mags and Elick wrangling with Bubba who had gotten a chicken in his mouth. Paw Paw sent the video to Ro Ro which has been used as proof that Elick lied about being down at the kennels and as evidence that he is the likely murderer. I believe the heroic chicken did not survive. I believe Bubba is living with Mags' sister. I am unsure of the sister's nickname.

This is perfect.

Bubba is living with Blanca now.

Oh yay! Blanca is good people!

The same people who keep buying high powered rifles for their son who can’t seem to keep track of them.

So we can only be entertained by shows about people just like ourselves?

Thanks, PP. That’s pretty wild.

I hope Alex is put under the jail.
