Yes tat is the lowest for BC now. BC is ranked like 33 ----- Top 40 is where former top 20 people now go.

No Not Wake, BC anyway. Maybe 20 years ago. The world changed. Your A- student is not getting into Wake or BC without a hook.

A good sized group of STA seniors who likely have mostly As and a few Bs (think 3.7-3.8 gpa) are all going to Boston College. Good school, but 10+ years ago this group would have expected to be accepted to top 20 schools. Times have changed.

Not anymore. Colby has a single digit acceptance rate. NE has grown so much in popularity, out of desperation quit frankly, that only A average students are getting in.


Not anymore? I am talking about acceptances from this year and last.

There are C students at these private high schools. They are in that college list as well.

This list is STA. I would like to see it absent ALL athletic recruits, not just two that PP clearly deemed to be subpar schools (which is not true). In any event, the average GPA last year was about an 88, so a B+. Straight B is 84 or 85, and I know students in 2023 are not getting into Tulane/Wisconsin/Hamilton, or Wake Forest/Bowdoin, etc. with a B average, even with 1500 SAT/34 ACT.


Is there a major difference between 2022 and 2023 results at STA?
How do you even know since 2023 is still TBD?


At best, these kids are not in yet (unless they were rejected) - things are bound to look different two months from now.

Yes, the big state schools are tough with their focus on gpa. That’s why some of us are recommending slacs, where private school kids have continued to do well with admissions.

and some of the other liberal arts schools could be considered lower as well.


There are only 4 that are not athletic recruits, HBCUs (7 of those which may very well have been a first choice) and BYU (likely a first choice as well).
