Have you visited NCS or spoken to HONEST parents with girls currently at that school? I have. and they all tell me to RUN to from NCS.
I don’t buy this. My DD is heading to NCS next year and we have a tons of friends with girls there (we are BVR family). Nobody has anything bad to say about the school at all. If it takes some of the best and brightest girls the average is quite high. When we toured they basically told us that all girls are above average and therefore are given above average assignments. I am sure the school has its flaws like all places do, but highly doubt parents/kids are running away from it. I actually heard of several BVR girls that were turned down from early admission so they are clearly not hurting for admission.
You are living in a vacuum. It should be noted that there were Beauvoir girls who did not apply to NCS as well. Wishing your daughter the best at NCS. I hear the lower school is lovely hope the high school changes by the time your daughter gets there.
Thanks, but why are you saying that I am living in a vacuum? I know of girls that applied early decision and did not get in. Girls that are weak in academics are counseled not to apply. Some do anyway and don’t get in. And these are the girls from the deeded elementary school…

Ignore all this negative drama from someone without a daughter at NCS. Our daughters are there and love it. Your daughter needs to be bright enough to keep up but as long as she is a decent student she will be fine and there are great girls there. Good luck and welcome!

That’s why I didn’t name it. And there are mean girl groups in all schools as well as mean boys. Saying there is one isn’t being toxic, it’s just stating the obvious. And I’m sure there are groups at NCS that are toxic as well. What I’m saying is that a generalization of NCS as toxic is a knee jerk reaction. I sensed during research (and have heard about) drama at another school but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it has a toxic culture - how the heck would I know without having a kid there?

NCS is not a school for everyone. My DD is thriving in the upper school and she had a great group of friends. I wouldn't want them to change much!
