My home town on Long Island was always racist. Now it's full-blown MAGA Q.

My neighborhood in OV Del literally 1 block over Bethany line MAGA to the max. Transplants from NY< RI< PA< VA.
Houses full blown covered in Trump crap. Neighbors are awful to each other. The local Catholic church is full of MAGA. Not like they are hiding it there. Flags are flown daily on houses, trucks, etc. The cult is alive and well.

One of my old friends went Q and MAGA at the same time; she was always prone to conspiracy theories and now she has really gone around the bend so far I want nothing to do with her anymore.

What kind of crazy YouTube channel? Do you have a link? YouTube is pretty good about censorship these days, so anything "deemed crazy", probably would not remain up for very long. Most sites, all social media, and even this one do a good job of scrubbing the information you actually see.

I know 4 people. One couple were friends with my parents, always conservative but seemed to spend way more time than usual on Fox News and other conservative radio shows once COVID hit. You can watch their Facebook posts sort of descend into craziness. Once 1/6 happened they started to dial it back and seem to sort of sheepishly trying to return to their old friend groups now. They ended up moving to another state to start over I think.

The second was a very social media active and pretty successful MLM person for the pink drink company. She was at the capitol on 1/6 and then was posting about it. She was fired. A lot of her MLM group also agree with her but they weren’t as public about it. They all moved to a different MLM which didn’t go well. Now she is trying to start an art business. She doesn’t seem to post political stuff online anymore but she still talks about Q at swim team etc.

The third was really vocal Trump supporter, lots of violent rhetoric, participated in boat parades etc. Seemed to find some identity in that group. But then her son tried to shoot up Embry Riddle. It looks like they have a decent attorney because her social media got cleaned up pretty quickly. I don’t think the Q people are considering the impact of their beliefs on their kids.

My son's best friend's mother and that boy's MIL omg educated Federal contractors both of them. One worked for National Security projects she's a nutcase cult member. Went to jan 6th. All of them go to the same Church in Potomac which is scary.

And it is not evangelical it is Catholic.

I can tell a similar story about some people I know in NOVA. Catholic, well-educated, High SES - and have totally gone off the deep end. They know I'm not "one of them" so they've frozen me out, but some of them used to be good friends. Ran into a few of them in Starbucks recently and I felt a little like the one woman in the "Stepford Wives" who wasn't a robot.

Watched the hearings on CNN - both Twitter and DOJ. Every democrat did two things in both - said “there’s nothing to see here, we are wasting time, let’s work together’ and almost all questions were directed at the leftist on the panel who was the minority. Without fail. When someone tells me there’s nothing to see here, there’s usually something to see.

The common thread that ties you guys together is faulty logic. Your statement is obviously wrong. If it were true then any false accusation would always be deemed true once someone denies or defends against it. It’s a trap.

Yes, just like they’re believe asking questions means they’re proving their conspiracies.

The Dems on the committee are not really asking questions. They are saying “don’t look behind door number because it’s a waste of time and let’s work together” The only Dem that asked questions didn’t want the answer. She kept stating the answer she wanted to hear as a way to try and influence the American people. It was transparent and not at all clever and the witness chewed her up and spit her out.

The dems on the committee have asked questions. they also provide statements with facts about how the GOP is gaslighting the viewers.
