SO what happened to Thelma at public or private school X in Palo Alto really has no bearing on our kids. It may be marginally interesting to hear that NYC private school kids are killing it while ours are getting shut out- but it's a different landscape in every city.
So to answer the OP question at our Big 3- Ivy And Stanford/Duke/MIT early action results are worse than usual, less acceptances more deferrals and rejections.
Were any schools particularly favorable despite this?
St. Albans seems to be doing really well; most of the academically strongest boys are still pending so time will tell.
The next Jeff Zients will be in this batch of STA boys
A complete mess up? Working for a second rate president that uses half a million dollar missile to shoot down unmanned spy balloons over water? No thanks.

God- every time I hear high school kids described as “rock stars” I want to throw up.

I can't tell if you are joking but there are a lot of really impressive kids in this senior class. My son's impression is that it's there are 20 or so who are complete rockstars and very few who lag behind.

Unfortunately admissions is looking brutal this year so hopefully the fallout isn’t too bad for them

LOL no.
Love UVA but still no
