Like I said in an earlier post...I am not a country fan but I listen a bit when others are playing it. Some songs are "catchy". So I'm not looking for amazing, heartfelt lyrics. I'm looking for upbeat, road trip music that is considered country so I can show my buddy that some country songs are pretty good. Appreciate all the suggestions.


NP here, my husband doesn’t like country music and reading through all the comments there are very few songs listed that he would enjoy. He finds the lyrics pandering and lacking sophistication and the music is basic four on the floor. At this point I can pick out the songs that will hurt his brain and most of the songs people listed are those (fancy like, beer for my horses, etc). He especially hates songs that are just “listing things” e.g. Love Your Love the Most.

Figure out why your friend doesn’t like country and we can give better suggestions.

Jason Isbell was great before he decided he had a Ph.D. in politics on Twitter. Ugh. He also is a downer. But Southeastern is still on my playlist. So good.

But “I don’t Want to Die in a Super 8 Motel” seems to be the vibe OP likes.
