Clothing size varies too much from brand to brand to be a meaningful measure of body size. If you want advice, post your actual measurements or specific brands.

I think she meant petite sizes don’t work for everyone. I’m 5’3” and have disproportionate long legs, long arms, short torso and disproportionately large waist. They just don’t work for me.

Yep I was 150 and 5'2 and size 8/10 with a 25 in circumference in my thighs.

I’ve been every size there is. At 5’3” I started adult life at 100 lbs. After baby I went up 10 lbs. when I started part time work I weighed 130 lbs. After cancer treatment the drugs had a weight gain side effect and I gained 35 lbs quickly, up to 165 lbs. premature menopause created a gut for me which is disproportionate to the rest of me.

Now I’m a steady weight of 125 lbs and at 5’3” I wear medium or large tops with size 31 pants. They are usually baggy which is how I’m comfortable.

PP - I measured my thighs and they were 16” in circumference. That shows how people store their weight differently because our sizes are similar.

Yeah, that probably looks nice. I’m 5’4” and about 108 lbs and I look kind of skeletal, especially in the face. I can’t gain weight though.

I am 5’4” and 167 lbs and a size 8. I am very active and have an hourglass figure. When I was a size 6, I was 158 lbs. When I was a size 4 (not very active at this point), I was 140 lbs. I think it really depends on your body type, muscle mass, build, and other things.

I am 5'3 and weigh 163, fluctuate between 160-165. I am a pretty solid 8 actually, a six in dresses frequently, S/M in tops and M/L in bottoms. Sometimes need to go to 10s in pants.

I am VERY fit, do a lot of heavy weight lifting etc so I think a fair amount of my extra weight comes from that. I also lost like 50-60 pounds and feel like I probably have 5-10 pounds of loose skin on me that I wouldn't have if I had never gained the weight.

Honestly I feel like I look great, my husband isn't complaining, I'm not particularly soft. Certainly I could lose more and have some 'problem areas' but whatever. Thrilled to be in single digits!

Every body is different you gotta learn to accept what you have when you're doing your level best and enjoy this time we have here instead of spending it worried about the number on the back of your pants <3

I'm 5'3" and when I was wearing size 8 I looked quite heavy. Just didn't look good at all...sort of chunky all over. BUT(!!!!) -- I have a VERY small/narrow, non-muscular, and non-curvy frame. I look much better as a size 2-4. I'm currently an XS in tops, 2 in dresses/pants, and a 26 waist in jeans. I weight 115. FWIW, I'm eating vastly healthier now than when I was a size 8. I was stressed and run-down over the summer with various things going on, and I unintentionally got down to 109 -- that did NOT look good!

I’m 5’4” and it would be heavy for me. I’ve got a boyish shape with no breasts though so I’d just look chunky. I feel best at about a 4.

That's the straight in the label. As opposed to curvy sizing when available: 1.5" smaller in waist, 2" bigger hip, bigger thigh. But that's what everyone's up against, the norm is gaining weight in the middle. Regardless clothing size that accommodates the hip is baseline, which means waists need to be altered. There needs to be too much fabric at the waist, or this wouldn't even be an option.

Do you really not think the size 10s are absurdly large if you’re used to being a size 2 ? I did not enjoy being that large and don’t plan to get there again.

I literally don't pay attention to clothes that are not my size (4) or close to it. I certainly don't notice the clothes in regular stores and think they are "absurdly large" much less shudder at them. I think "that looks too big for me" and that's it. You sound like you have major body issues.
