I’ve been estranged from my brother for years and am going to his memorial service next week. All of the siblings are going except for one - ironically, the only one he wasn’t estranged from. He has his reasons for not coming. Whatever.

Sometimes you just do what you gotta do. Unless you’re a nasty, angry and bitter DCUM woman, of course. Then it becomes all about you and you skip the funeral.

1) It's none of your business. At all.

2) Funerals are for the living, not the dead, so presumably your friend is deciding if she wants to see the people who will be there.

That's cold but to each its own. Dead person wouldn't know or care so guess its no big deal, just gossips of other relatives.
