Yep, it’s all political theater from this Yale-Harvard elitist graduate who now masquerades as someone who cares about common folk.
Just like Trump, he’s able to trick the uneducated electorate into voting against their own interests. None of DeSantis’ supporters will actually benefit in any way from this New College stunt.
And who, exactly, is "voting against their own interests"? Be specific. Because your interests are most definitely not going to be mine.
Again - this isn't a "stunt." It's a governor carrying out his duties, just like other governors. Deal with it.
Just one example—seniors who vote for DeSantis when he blocks efforts to lower prescription costs and cuts support for nursing homes. Again, just one example but there are plenty more. Who exactly has DeSantis helped and improved life for while serving as Governor?
Liar, liar pants on fire, gnashing of teeth
Re : nursing homes
The current law requires that certified nursing assistants and licensed nurses provide a weekly average of 3.6 hours of direct care per patient per day. The bill would keep that 3.6-hour average, but it would allow time spent by other types of workers, such as physical therapists and occupational therapists, to be factored into the calculation.
And today re: prescription costs and pharmacy benefit managers
Also, DeSantis and state lawmakers in 2019 approved a plan to import cheaper prescription drugs from Canada for government programs such as Medicaid, prisons and facilities run by the Department of Children and Families.
As of early Thursday afternoon, detailed legislation had not been filed. But DeSantis said the proposal will include:
Preventing what DeSantis called “spread pricing,” which involves PBMs keeping the difference between what they are paid by health plans and what they pay to pharmacies.
Preventing a practice known as “clawbacks” by PBMs that can reduce money for pharmacies.
Barring PBMs from mandating that consumers use certain mail-order pharmacies.
Thank you. We love Florida!
I heard so many stories of travelers who did stints in FL during Covid. They pay nurses crap, Covid was out of control. You just want to hear one side of the story.
DP. On the contrary, it's obviously YOU who just wants to hear one side of the story. You clearly want to silence anyone who speaks positively about FL and/or DeSantis.

They fired the President and installed one of DeSantis' best buddies, former Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran

If you do not admit that liberals have taken over colleges across US, you are delusional and do not live in reality. Same thing for news media. Everything needs something to balance in search for truth.
This. Zero chance of getting tenure if you are openly republican - even a Mitt Romney style republican. Sorry but DeSantis was totally correct about covid and is getting this right, too.

Asserting they are overreacting and that would not impact the student experience and then applauding this.
I think the sad part is that the school will likely fail. The goal is to turn it into something the current students would hate and thus drive them out and I don’t see a huge demand for the kind of school it is with a reactionary conservative bent.
