the most ironic would be a female LEO who needs an abortion going to a blue state to get one, and their police dept arrests her for it.

Even if FL still continues to be super desirable it is going to be effected when people who want to relocate there are unable to sell their homes in other states. In some way markets are connected even though obviously they are locally driven. If FL has a huge influx of people from affluent high COL NE places, it's because houses there used to sell like hot potatoes making people relocating to FL feel rich, or making feel house rich and wanting to invest into a second home. Once sellers in NE high COL places feel house poor or unable to cash out having to sell their homes, then there will be less $$ going to FL.

Although I have been super left most of my life, the current PC policies of Democrats, along with both parties just supporting different corporations have made me a skeptic.

I do always vote every election. The deciding issue why I won't vote for DeSantis? He wants to pass permitless open carry of guns. That is a policy that could potentially effect my day to day life.

My sister is in law enforcement in Florida and permitted carry would absolutely make her job harder. It's nuts how they claim to be tough on crime but then do things that make life harder for LEOs.

Sorry eliminating permitted carry. Since they passed this in Texas LEOs have said people reach for guns instead of fistfighting. And a lot easier for a bystander to be harmed by a stray bullet than a stray fist.

In the upcoming governor's race you will see that millions of Florida residents will vote against DeSantis and while he may win it will not be a landslide. He squeaked by in the last election by .4% and he has really pissed off a lot of people since then.

You're going to be in for a surprise. -Signed a Florida resident in their 30's who once voted for Gillum, and Biden and has early voted for DeSantis.

Can I ask why you’re voting for Desantis? I suspect it has to do with keeping schools open, but that’s just a guess. And where in FL do you live?

DP but the PP is one of many. Desantis is up by nearly 10 in the polls and the state Democratic Party is in disarray. Florida is looking more and more like a solid red state than a “purple” state as some here are suggesting.

Yes, there’s no question that FL is tending redder demographically, but the PP has voted Democrat as recently as 2020, so I’m curious why the shift toward Desantis.

Wow, imagine announcing to the world you've got brain worms.

Or don't care if women die. DeSantis wants to pass the same abortion laws in Florida they have in Texas. My cousin literally had to wait until she was in sepsis after a partial abruption at 15 weeks with a very wanted baby. Because of the delay she has infection scarring and now may be entirely unable to carry another pregnancy. And she easily could have died.

oMG. When that happens, I am out.
