I am a commenter from back on pages ~1-3 of this thread. Try the Hydrating Cream-to-Foam cleanser from Cerave, noting they have some similarly named products. I have never liked their cleansers but love this one.

Does it remove make up?

I JUST found this out. I went to restock my supply (I usually buy several at a time so it lasts awhile). Now I am devastated to find they are gone. I am in the same boat as you. I've been using this for probably 15years. I've never used anything like it that can be used daily, in the shower, gently cleaning my face while removing heavy eye make up. Did you ever find a solution? One that does all the things the Neutrogena one did, and that is washable (without needing to use a cotton pad)?

For anyone looking to replace, I’m here to not recommend La Roche Posay cleanser - it is nice and gentle but does not budge eye makeup (so I wipe off eye makeup first with an oil cleanser, then wash my face with the La Roche Posay).

Bought equate foaming cleanser to try from Walmart (even delivered same day) as someone mentioned but the smell is extremely strong so haven’t tried. I usually buy unscented & with Neutrogena the foaming cleanser had a light but pleasant smell.

Horrible news. I have been using this for decades. Just sucks.

I use Cetaphil cleanser and a cotton ball to remove eye makeup. I have very sensitive skin (and only use Cetaphil and coconut oil on my face regularly) and it works well and is gentle. Good luck!

Also, please beware of sellers on EBAY or other platforms. They will over charge you so much that the amount is laughable! Plus, they will sell a product" slightly used". That is nasty!

I use many different skincare products. I will only use the ones without fragrance. If it has fragrance in it then it has alcohol. Alcohol is very drying and irritating. I appreciate Clinique's products. I also use many of Neutrogena products. But, I love micellar water with a cold water splash afterwards. Maybe you can try this. I refuse to buy discontinued products. They have a reason for discontinuing it.

Kiehl’s cleansing oil, cleansing balms from Clinique or BeautyCounter (surprisingly), or cold cream all work very well for makeup removal, as do a soft minky-type microfiber towel. All are easily removed with a damp warm cotton face cloth, or the cold cream with a tissue. Some like a second cleanse after, and the Equate version of the foaming cleanser works well for that.

I agree 100% I have been using this product for over 20 years and to see it disappear like that and there is no comparable product that I have found like it! I want it back now! It is the best facial make up removing cleanser that I have ever used! If somebody knows something that works good let me know because I haven’t found it also their make up remover has also disappeared… WHy!?

For years I used to use an expensive Lancome cleanser that worked for me due to my sensitive skin but it was discontinued but I came across Neutrogena’s cleanser and I was ecstatic that my skin responded so well with no reaction and it was cheap which made it even better. So now here I go again trying to find something else that will work.

It was the best face and makeup remover so not happy

Equate (Walmart) brand has the exact same cleanser. Blue bottle looks almost identical and everything.
